"We offer TMS for depression. TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) is a safe, FDA Approved treatment for depression that comes with no lasting side effects and helps 70% of patients experience relief from their symptoms (50% of patients achieve full remission). In patients with depression, there is normally low activity in a specific area of the brain (left DLPFC). TMS targets this area directly by using MRI-like magnetic waves to help influence activity in this area of the brain. TMS is covered by most insurances (Medicare, MassHealth and private insurances) for patients that have tried at least 4 or more anti depressants and are considered "treatment-resistant".
